MOTHERS and MIDWIVES: the ethical journey
An ethic developed from within practice addresses the practical concern of people who are directly involved in it. A distinctive midwifery ethic, therefore, offers a more adequate ethical response for mothers and midwives than traditional bioethics because it is based on the values and beliefs of the women who experience childbirth, as well as those who practice midwifery.
